Pre-Shrunk Printed Canvas Bags

Untreated cotton canvas shrinks between three and five percent the first time it is washed. On a plain bag nobody notices. On a printed one it pulls the artwork out of square, and anything running near a panel edge ends up creeping onto the seam.

There are two honest fixes and we will use whichever suits you. Pre-shrunk sanforised cloth is compacted before the bag is cut, so what leaves us is what stays. Or we size the artwork with the shrinkage allowed for, which costs nothing but has to be decided before the screens are made rather than discovered on the reorder.

This is also why a second order can look subtly wrong when the first was fine: different cloth batch, different residual shrinkage, same screens. We record the cloth spec and the compensation against your account so the third order matches the first.
