Raw, undyed canvas is the best-looking cloth we sell. It has a colour no dye reproduces, it takes a single-colour print beautifully, and it ages into something people keep. It also has two behaviours that nobody mentions until after the order.

It yellows under ultraviolet. A bag in a sunny shop window will be visibly warmer in tone within a season than the ones in the stockroom, and that is the cloth doing what undyed cotton does rather than a fault. If bags are going into a window display, we will say so before you commit.

It also marks. Undyed cotton shows what it touches and does not hide it, which is either the whole charm of the material or completely wrong for you. We would rather have that conversation at quote stage than at delivery.
